Day 2 (3-4 Hours)

What to expect?

-We provide a meal (a burrito!) upon arrival 

-Sensors are placed on your arm, hand, and abdomen to measure things like heart rate and breathing 

-Saliva is collected before, during, and after a series of short public speaking and mental math tasks (tasks are performed 1:1 with an experimenter) 

-Completing questionnaires about yourself


What to bring?

-Cell phone

-Saliva sample #1 (Collected when you

wake up on the day of your appointment)


Other Instructions:

As a reminder, this is NOT a fasting visit. However, you will also be provided with a free light meal at the start of your appointment. Please document the saliva sample though the OnTimePoint app after you wake up on the day of your visit and bring it to your appointment. If you are unable to use the OnTimePoint app, please write down the exact time the sample was collected.

-Please refrain from using alcohol and marijuana products on the day of your appointment.

-Please refrain from exercising and consuming excessive caffeine 12 hours prior to your appointment.

If you cannot attend your session:

-If you arrive more than 20 mins after your scheduled time we will have to reschedule you for another day.

-Please contact the laboratory at 918-660-3048 or tulsa.plan@gmail.com at least 24 hours before your appointment.

-Please do not “no show” to your appointment. Doing so means our team lost 3-4 hours of time we could have been testing another participant.


Where to go?

Our laboratory is located on the third floor of the OU Schusterman Center Administrative Building (Room 3G01; 4502 E 41st St, Tulsa, OK 74135). Please review the attached maps and directions and have them available on the day of your appointment. Also, please don’t hesitate to call if you encounter difficulty navigating the OU-Tulsa campus; a researcher will happily direct you to parking and our lab.
